Privacy Policy
This privacy policy explains how ukimportcalculator.co.uk handles information when you use this UK import duty and VAT calculator website. The site is an informational estimate tool and does not provide legal or tax advice.
Last updated: 25 July 2026.
Information you provide
Calculator inputs, such as commodity codes, product descriptions, values, shipping costs, insurance, origin, dispatch country and importer profile choices, may be sent to the API and processed to generate import duty, VAT and landed cost estimates.
If you save or share an estimate, the estimate inputs and result may be stored as an anonymous calculation session so the result can be reopened, exported as PDF or CSV, or shared by link. Do not enter unnecessary personal information into calculator fields.
Analytics
Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity are optional. Neither service is requested or initialised until you select “Accept analytics”. If you reject analytics, the services remain unloaded. Google and Microsoft may process technical information such as browser and device details, approximate location, traffic source, page interactions and pseudonymous identifiers after consent.
Our manual Google Analytics events do not include calculation values, commodity codes, product descriptions, search queries, form inputs, session IDs, shareable links or personal information. Page-view URLs are limited to the site origin and pathname, without query parameters or hashes. Calculator, commodity-result and saved-result areas are explicitly masked from Clarity recordings.
Cookies and local storage
The site stores your analytics choice in local storage under uk-import-calculator.analytics-consent.v1. This preference is necessary to remember whether the optional services may load; it is not used for advertising and contains only “accepted” or “rejected”. If you accept, Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity may set analytics cookies. See the cookies and analytics page for names, purposes and controls.
Your choice and withdrawal
Accept and Reject are offered with equal prominence. You can reopen the controls at any time with “Cookie settings” in the footer. Withdrawing consent sends denied consent updates, disables future Google Analytics collection, asks Clarity to clear its cookies and stop tracking, removes the analytics script elements and attempts to expire first-party analytics cookies.
Infrastructure providers
The site uses infrastructure providers to operate the service: Vercel for frontend hosting, Render for backend/API hosting, and Cloudflare for DNS and email routing. Requests and technical logs may pass through these providers as part of normal website operation.
